Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khan Farooqi: Through the Prism of History Nurturing and embellishing raw minds is a task of sheer importance and concocting the ones who perform this task is even more crucial. This is what a veteran educationist and esteemed scholar of the University of Okara, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khan Farooqi, has been doing since years. There is hardly an educational institute in the entire region where his cherished teachers are not serving. Dr. Farooqi is an Associate Professor of Education and serving as the Chairman of the Department of Educational Research & Assessment, Faculty of Education, University of Okara. He earned his Doctorate in Education from the Institute of Education & Research (IER), University of the Punjab, Lahore. He specialized in Educational Leadership and Management. When it comes to research, Dr. Farooqi is regarded as an institution in himself. He has more than 50 publications in national and international HEC recognized journals. In 2013, he contributed his in-depth insights to the book entitled “Conflict Management Styles and Organizational Environment: Lambert Academic Publication, Germany. Dr. Farooqi has attended a range of training workshops with “Workshop on Information Management System” organized by HEC at IBA Karachi in august 201 and a training course on “Quality Assurance in Education” organized by Canada Pakistan Basic Education Project Lahore in 2008 being at the top. Dr. Farooqi has supervised 05 Ph.D. and more than 60 MPhil students in his career. He has been a Paper Reviewer for “Journal of Educational Sciences and Research” the University of Sargodha, “Journal of Educational Research (JER)” The Islamia University of Bahawalpur, and “Bulletin of Educational Research (BER)” IER University of the Punjab Lahore. Besides his celebrated academic contribution, Dr. Farooqi has served in various administrative positions including Director Research and Additional Controller of Examination at the University of Okara. As Director of Research, he organized the “1st National Conference on Multidisciplinary Research” in 2019. He also organized a two-day “1st annual workshop on “Emerging Trends in Research & Data Analysis”. After holding the portfolio of Additional Controller of Examination, he revitalized the conventional setup and aligned it with the needs and methods of the modern age. He successfully established various wings in the Examination Branch including Conduct, Secrecy, and Admin in order to facilitate the teachers and students in a timely and professional manner. It has a big challenge to align the examination system with e-Learning. Dr. Farooqi took up the challenge and developed a comprehensive system of online examinations.
